Low back bras
The ‘low back bras’ is not a
concept which is recent. In fact, it is a concept which has
been used since the 1930’s. It has more than one names and
it is also referred to as the strapless long line bra. This
kind of bra is primarily worn when wearing very deep neck
lines, strapless dresses, spaghetti strap dresses, backless
dresses and other such clothes. The low back bras are known
to be quite uncomfortable when worn for long time but they
are definitely better to wear rather than wearing the
adhesive bra. The concept of this bra dates back to the
1930’s and it was known to be an era where glamour and
fashion has been immortalized. Of the dresses which were
worn back then, the beginnings of the dresses kept falling
downwards along with the draping gown. The draping gowns
were acceptable but any women with self respect would not
venture out of their houses wearing such dresses without any
support to the breasts.
The
manufacturers of lingerie accepted the challenge and
developed the long line corset which was designed to hug the
waist and provide support to the breasts by sticking to
them. The low back bras certainly were not the most
comfortable fitting, but they were sufficient to provide
support to the body and gave a more decent look to save the
modesty of the women to give the more important reputation
to them. The basic designs of the low back bras have not
changed much since their introduction in the 1930’s. The
newer designs have however be worked upon to give the women
a more comfortable feeling when they wear these low back
bras. The material used in them is usually plastic or more
flexible material. Unlike the older designs which used to be
manufactured from old materials which were not that
flexible, the newer materials offer a higher level of
comfort to the women who wear them.
These low
back bras are mainly made of cotton as wearing cotton has
its own advantages over some other materials which can also
be used to make them. The main advantage is that the cotton
fabric is more flexible than the other fabrics. The other
vital plus point offered by the cotton material is the mesh
design of the fabric. The design of the low back bras allows
respiration of the skin. If the skin is allowed to respire,
it naturally stays healthy and any sweat emitted by the body
is absorbed by the cotton, which is another intrinsic factor
of cotton. Allowing the skin to breathe will automatically
allow you to wear the clothes for a longer duration of time.
As you can
see, using cotton has its own advantages and no wonder that
the use of cotton garments, both inner and outer has
increased by several folds in the last few years. There are
some strapless bras which are more bodysuits than bras.
These bras stick too close to the body and you might not
want to wear them for more than a couple of hours, but they
certainly do allow the woman to wear dresses which stick a
little too close to the skin!
I wish you all the best on your
Low Back Bras adventure!
Best wishes,
Thomas T :)
